VRA get-together at the International Conference on Philippine Studies (ICOPHIL 2012)

The Institute of Philippine Culture invites all former Visiting Research Associates (VRA) and interested scholars to the IPC panel at the 9th ICOPHIL Conference at Michigan State University, East Lansing, Michigan, USA. The panel presentations by Dr. Czarina Saloma-Akpedonu, Dr. Ma. Elissa Lao and Dr. Emma Porio will discuss the theme, “Knowledge Mobilization for Social Developmentā€ and are scheduled on 29 October 2012 (Day 2), at 10.15-11.45 a.m. (Riverside Room). The purpose of the panel is twofold: first, to present current IPC work in the areas of disaster management, water resource management, and urban renewal which has been done in partnership with government agencies, international organizations and local communities and second, to provide a forum for sharing insights into the challenges and opportunities of the current research environment and the possibilities for networking and for new areas and methods of research for university research centers such as the IPC.
