The Institute of Philippine Culture, together with the Department of Sociology and Anthropology, honored Dr. Mary Racelis, Dr. Wilfredo Arce, and Fr. John Carroll, SJ last December 3, 2010 at the Ricardo and Dr. Rosita Leong Hall Roofdeck. The three pioneers were given plaques of recognition for their contributions to the Sociological and Anthropological enterprise in the Phillippines and in the Asian region. That same day, Professor Gerard Rixhon launched his new book, Voices from Sulu: A Collection of Tausug Oral Traditions at the Social Sciences Conference Rooms 3 and 4. The book was funded by the Merit Research Award grant and is published by the Ateneo University Press.
