The Textile Industry and its Women Workers: A Philippines-Japan Study

The study had a twofold objective: (1) understand the role of the textile industry within the national contexts of the Philippine and Japan, and across the two nations in terms of linkages in the international economy; and (2) ascertain the roles played by women in the industrialization process as seen in the specific context of the textile industry and determine the impact of industrialization on the situation of lower-class women workers.
