Preserving and Protecting Philippine Architectural Heritage

The project encompassed a systematic strategy to preserve outstanding architectural achievements of Philippine society. The first step was to assemble two types of compendium which would be published as an online database to serve as a resource for other researchers. The second was a compendium of initiatives and models of heritage preservation in other countries which may have relevance to and can be adopted in the Philippines. The third step was to establish local cultural heritage in the consciousness of local governments. The fourth step s to raise public awareness of the existence and significance of local cultural heritage through the publication of guides to historic Manila and Metro Manila and mounting of exhibits of architectural heritage in public spaces.
