Moving Out of Poverty: Understanding the Growth and Freedom from the Bottom Up

This pilot project tested and refined the methodology for the global study to be conducted by The World Bank in several countries. It sought a preliminary understanding of why and how some poor people moved out of poverty while others stayed trapped, and how democracy and national governance systems impacted on poor people’s experiences of economic freedom and choice.
