Continuities in Philippine Social Class

The study sought to prove the statement, "Most Philippine communities are the same in social structure as they were some four centuries ago, prior to the first permanent Spanish settlement," and concluded that no essential change occurred, and that most of the Philippines remained in this very basic respect largely untouched by the events of the past four centuries.
