Child Rearing among the Samal of Manubul Island, Sulu

The study explores a small but possibly significant portion of the differences that complicate the effort to understand the Filipino child's growth and development in the context of Philippine culture. The research is oriented toward differences in certain socialization ideas, attitudes, and practices associated with geographical and residential differences. The study focuses on child-rearing and certain aspects of socialization among the land-dwelling and water-dwelling Samal groups.
