Baseline Study of the "Let's Talk" Communication for Development Program to Reduce Bullying and Peer Violence in Secondary Schools

This research gathered data on the following:

  • general school climate;
  • the incidence and extent of bullying that took place in the school, including the circumstances surrounding the bullying incidents;
  • the responses, actions, and outcomes of bullying; and
  • school policies and procedures, and other responses of school personnel to bullying, as perceived by the students and teachers.

The study was undertaken in Manila, Cebu, Camotes Island, and the Mountain Province. The schools covered by this baseline study were among those covered by the earlier study on Violence against Children in Public Schools conducted by the Philippine Women's University for UNICEF and Plan International.
